At Body Stories Project, we deeply believe in the power of cinema to heal, connect, and inspire. Over the past months, our work has been recognized on two incredible platforms: CineSpace, an international competition co-hosted by NASA, and Decentralized Pictures, a groundbreaking initiative supporting independent filmmakers.
In November last year, our 5-minute short film "Primordial Kankurwa" co-produced by Mariluz Guerra and Isaías Montaño, explored the deep connections between our ancestral traditions and the cosmos. We were honored to become finalists at CineSpace, where our film was screened in Houston, TX, and watched by renowned filmmaker Richard Linklater. The reception was beyond humbling, reaffirming our mission to share stories that bridge the ancient and the modern. "Primordial Kankurwa" will be launched on our YouTube channel later this year, stay tuned in!

Earlier this year, our current film project, "Body Stories: Marta & Fidel" earned its space on the Decentralized Pictures platform (co-founded by Sofia and Roman Coppola). Through this experience, we received beautiful, detailed, and inspiring feedback from the community. Every comment, critique, and word of encouragement fuels our commitment to creating films that spark change, even in times of uncertainty and global turmoil. Here are some of the feedbacks we got during our campaign on Decentralized Pictures:
A key moment in this journey: our core team gathered to review At Your Door, the original song for "Body Stories: Marta & Fidel". This team includes James Scales (songwriter and co-writer from Philadelphia), Jeffrey Peterson (co-writer from Georgia), Thurgood Marshal Jones Jr. (songwriter and co-producer from Georgia), and Mariluz Guerra (indigenous co-writer, general director and co-producer from Colombia). Music, as film, has the power to heal, and this project embodies that fusion.
